I was contracted by a local design firm to produce a full-color design that was to be used by the Vice Presidents of Harley-Davidson to commemorate an annual ride to Hell, Michigan. This was a limited edition run that would be distributed to the group of riders involved. The order was done on a rush basis, completed within 11 days from accepting the job. They wanted something Bad-ass enough to represent this group of riders. I think the design hit the mark. The second image is a shot of the actual T-shirt side by side with those from previous years.

My friend and fellow school-owner Andy Wilson asked me to design some new T-shirts for his Grand Re-opening event in 2006. He asked for a single color back design for his staff members, and five other designs with a common 2-color back and a unique 3-color front pocket design that highlighted the 5 main sytems of Martial Arts that they taught at the school. This included designing a logo, the tribal design used on the back, and a mini-illustration for each front. The day of his event he sold over $1000 in merchandise, the shirts were a great success, with many students collecting one of each design. The first five images are the front image (pocket), and the last is the back of each shirt.

Saints to Sinners Tour Promotional Design

I was again contracted by GS Design to submit some artwork for consideration for an upcoming tour. The tour was geared towards the 30-something market, new HD owners, etc. It was entitled the Saints to Sinners Tour, and would be a multiple rally tour from Salt Lake City, Utah to Las Vegas. They were looking for artwork to be used on banners, t-shirts, posters, etc. The Creative Director had the idea of using heavy-metal-style illustration for the artwork for the tour. I was given the theme and a weekend to do some sketches, and later another week to develop some concepts and variations. A decision has yet to be made, but these are some of the ideas I proposed. Some of these designs are available here.

Milwaukee Gathering T-shirt Design

This design was also used on the promo poster for the event. A Gathering is a seminar event in which several schools come together for a day of training, with each instructor teaching a bit of their own magic. The underlying theme behind these events is a growth of community among students from different schools.

Illustrator - Embroidery and Silk Screen Print
In 2006 I was heavily involved in the World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation, working as the Head Designer, Copy Writer and Web Administrator for the US branch of this organization. One of the many projects I headed was the design of the team uniforms for the World Championships held in Florida that year. Each of the 60 or so fighters from the US wore these uniforms during their competition. The embroidered version was particulary well received. The first image is the back of the uniform, the second is the design on each lapel.

This commemorative design was used for the US Nationals in 2006. This design is still available here.

MKG Seattle Core Team Jacket Design

Illustrator - Screen Print
This design was a follow-up to the previous t-shirt designs. I was asked to make a design for the back of a windbreaker used by their senior students. I was asked to maintain the color scheme used in the previous designs.

This is another design used to commemorate the tournament. The second image shows the original marker sketch (inset) and the vectorized drawing used on the flyer. It's a relief, now that cheap Direct Transfer printing is becoming more available, I can begin to incoporate more sophisticated images with more colors and gradients.
